About Nadiya

Let's explore together through play, art & games to connect & grow.

Nadiya Boyce, PMH-C, Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern, Certified AutPlay Therapy Provider, Perinatal Mental Health Certified, Certified Positive Discipline Parent Educator, Doctoral Candidate (she/her)

My mission is to create a therapeutic relationship where kids are able to explore their perspectives, learn to thrive in a complicated world, and support parents in assisting their child with their growth. I work with children between the ages of 5 and 18, and it’s important to me that kids have a voice while also learning how to make their world a better place.

Parents and caregivers are integral partners in a child’s development, and I support parents with connecting with their child using the language that a child knows best: Play! Working with kids is my passion and my approach to therapy is focused on helping clients understand themselves better and experience their world in a healthier way through play, humor, and creativity.

I am a doctoral student at Florida Atlantic University and have supported children and families as a School Counselor and school-based mental health therapist. I am a member of the Association for Play Therapy and have participated in training on trauma-informed practices, expressive arts therapy, and Gottman Method Level 1 couples therapy.  As an Certified AutPlay Therapy Provider, I work with young children through teens who struggle with neurodivergent brains.  Together, we build healthy relationships and communication skills through a neurodiversity affirming lens.  My background includes participating in the performing arts as an actor and saxophonist, and I enjoy connecting with artistic, creative, and often misunderstood or “defiant” children. I enjoy serving the counseling profession and conducting research on how to improve mental health outcomes for children and adolescents.

After experiencing my own perinatal mental health issues in my pregnancy, I became passionate about serving others like me. Having a certified Perinatal Mental Health Counseling practitioner to speak with can change the way you navigate the melange of symptoms related to pregnancy, traumatic pregnancy and birth experiences, and postpartum issues. When looking for a Perinatal Mental Health Counselor you can look for practitioners who are included in the Postpartum Support International directory, like me.

Whether this is your first pregnancy or you've had multiple pregnancies, it would be an honor to support you in helping process your joys, fears, and experiences related to pregnancy and pregnancy loss, the birthing experience, and postpartum experiences.

At the end of the day, we are all human. I will never claim to have all of the answers, but I will help you, your child and family find the best answers for your family system. I am excited to learn more about you, your family, and support you in creating a safe space to grow. Offering both virtual telehealth sessions and in-person services in Longwood, FL.
