About The Event
Ever wonder how art therapy techniques can enhance your clinical skills and build your toolbox? This workshop is a hands-on introduction to incorporating art therapy techniques into play therapy services for all ages. Therapists will leave with art activities to incorporate with their clientele that will aid in with a variety of presenting concerns, ages and situations. This workshop is perfect for the novice through experienced Play Therapist. Therapists will be able to incorporate learned skills into their clinical approach and techniques into in person and online telehealth services.
Participants should be able to…
- Define Art Therapy and the ethics of art therapy
- Identify ways art can be incorporated into Child-Centered Play Therapy and Directive approaches
- Describe at least two art therapy activities to incorporate into services with children, teens and adult
- Describe at least two ways that art therapy activities can be done in person and virtually during play therapy services
- Define Reflection, expanding the metaphor and other processing methods by the end of the workshop
- Utilize effectively at least three processing methods by the end of the workshop
- Demonstrate how to link art activities to client's goals and outcomes
This workshop will be located at Berger Counseling Services' office in Coral Springs and limited to 15 participants. Your spot will not be guaranteed without completion of registration with payment.
LIVE: This will be a LIVE, in-person workshop. Participants must attend the entire presentation and will be awarded LIVE CONTACT CE's upon successful completion of a post test. Approved by APT for 6 LIVE CONTACT CE Hours & Florida LMHC, LMFT & LCSW CEU's.

9:00am-10:30am Introduction to Art Therapy theory & techniques
10:45am-12:00pm Introduction to reflection, Clean Language and processing methods
1:00pm-2:30pm Activities for children, teens and adults
2:45pm-4:30pm Cultural considerations, linking to client goals and outcomes
Cancellation Policy: All cancellations must be requested in writing and received no later than 30 days prior to the workshop to receive a 100% refund. Requests made after will receive 50% refund or transfer to a later workshop. Substitutions (someone else attending) or transfer of registration to another training date may be requested. All attendees who are not able to attend live will be provided credits for on-demand workshop for 6 NON-CONTACT CE's.

Marla is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Registered Art Therapist, Registered Play Therapist - Supervisor™, EMDR Trained, PATH Int'l Certified Therapeutic Riding Instructor, Qualified Supervisor, Natural Lifemanship Certification Student and an Eagala Advanced Certified Professional. In other words, she loves experiential therapies! Marla founded Berger Counseling Services in 2009 and has presented locally and nationally on experiential services, trauma and bereavement.
