Culturally Competent Play Therapy During

Culturally Competent Play Therapy During the Holidays

Our clientele is increasingly multicultural.  Learn how to incorporate best practice, culturally competent play therapy skills and techniques to your practice!

Presented by Marla Berger, LMHC, ATR, RPT-S, Eagala Advanced Certified

About this Event

The holiday season brings a host of additional stressors and issues of inclusion in these already difficult times.  Clinicians strive to be culturally competent, especially about beliefs and traditions tied to the holiday season.  This webinar will serve as a guide for play therapists to navigate a variety of holiday traditions, including play activities that are culturally sensitive. Play Therapists will be able to incorporate learned skills into their clinical approach and techniques into in person and online telehealth services. Ethical considerations, diversity and limitations will also be explored.

By the end of the webinar, participants will be able to:

  1. Describe the movements through cultural knowledge, awareness, sensitivity and competence.

  2. Identify holiday traditions in a variety of beliefs, faiths and cultures.

  3. Demonstrate appropriate play therapy activities to link to culturally competent holiday traditions.

On Demand Webinar: Participants will be awarded 2 NON-CONTACT CE and/or Florida CEU's upon successful completion of a post test.
